Research focus
A growth-hormone-releasing factor analogue studied in HIV-associated abdominal fat accumulation.
In simple words
Tesamorelin is a peptide modelled on a signal that stimulates growth-hormone release. The selected clinical research concerns abdominal fat accumulation in people living with HIV, not general fitness outcomes.
The named research compound is described here; the identity and formulation of this catalogue vial have not been independently verified.
Research references
Reviewed 2026-10-26
Human — randomized trial with extension
404 people with HIV and excess abdominal fat in the context of antiretroviral treatment.
The growth-hormone-releasing factor analogue reduced visceral fat in the studied population and increased IGF-I.
Benefits were lost after switching to placebo. A specific clinical population cannot establish general fat-loss benefits. Although tolerability was reported, long-term safety and this vial are not established.
