Research focus

Bremelanotide has been studied in controlled trials of hypoactive sexual desire disorder.

In simple words

PT-141, also called bremelanotide, is a peptide studied in signalling associated with sexual desire. The selected human trials concern a defined clinical population and study formulation, not this catalogue vial.

PT-141 is commonly called bremelanotide. Trial formulations and populations must not be equated with this listing.

Bremelanotide: two RECONNECT trials

Human — randomized phase 3 trials

1,267 premenopausal women randomized; 1,202 in the efficacy analysis.

Trials in hypoactive sexual desire disorder reported improvements in desire and related distress scores compared with placebo.

Nausea, flushing and headache were more frequent. This selected population and tested formulation do not establish general sexual-performance benefits or validate this vial.
